Is there free digital menu board software?

Yes. Several platforms offer a free tier for a single screen, which is usually all a small café or restaurant needs.

Dispry is free for one screen at one location, with unlimited image updates, portrait or landscape, and no credit card required. You only pay when you grow to multiple screens or locations, or want video, slideshows and scheduling on the Pro plan.
