What device do I need for a digital menu board?
You don't need special signage hardware. Any inexpensive streaming device that runs Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV will run Dispry — or buy a TV with one of them built in. Here's what we recommend.
Walmart Onn Google TV 4K
~$20–30
The cheapest way to run a digital menu board. A tiny box that plugs into any TV's HDMI port, connects over Wi-Fi, and runs Dispry. Ideal for a single screen on a budget.
- 4K output
- Runs Google TV / Android TV apps
- Great price per screen
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
~$40–50
Sold almost everywhere and very reliable. Runs the Dispry Fire TV app. A safe default for most restaurants and shops.
- 4K output
- Easy to find anywhere
- Dispry Fire TV app
TV with Fire TV / Google TV built in
One purchase
Buying a new screen anyway? Choose a TV with Fire TV or Google TV built in — such as an Insignia or Toshiba Fire TV, or an Onn Google TV — and install Dispry right on it. One device, one remote.
- No separate streaming stick
- Fewer cables
- One thing to power on
A few buying tips
Lock it to the menu. Dispry launches by itself when the device powers on, so after a power blip the menu comes right back and staff aren't tempted to open streaming apps.
Match the resolution, not the size. A 32" and a 65" 4K TV both want the same pixel count. Design your files for the panel's resolution — use the tool below.
Wired power, reliable Wi-Fi. Keep the device on constant power and within good Wi-Fi range so it stays online all day.

TV size
A 55" TV is almost certainly 4K — adjust below if you know otherwise.

Sharpness depends on your TV's resolution, not its size — a 32" and a 65" 4K TV both want 3840 × 2160. Most TVs 43" and up are 4K; smaller or older sets are usually 1080p. The converter above handles video format for you.
